I will make an impact on your legacy income today, whilst ensuring that it grows in the future.
I am a freelance legacy fundraising consultant with over 14 years of experience.
Based in Bath in the South West, but operating nationally, I am dedicated to help charities learn to celebrate legacies and to increase their legacy income.
My expertise spans both Legacy Administration and Legacy Marketing.
This means I will help you to to grow your future legacy pipeline, whilst optimising your current legacy income in a sensitive, proactive and professional way.
Flexibility is key to my approach.
I offer a wide range of services from developing your legacy proposition and marketing strategy through to long term or interim management of your current legacy income.
Administration
Holding the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA) for 10 years I’ve been solely responsible for the legacy income at Arthritis Care, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Havens Hospices and the National Osteoporosis Society.
I have managed many high value contentious cases, including a landmark case against the Belgian State, which ultimately led to a change in European Inheritance Tax law and an award to the charity concerned of over £1 million.
Focusing on exceptional attention to detail, I will make informed high-level decisions and recommendations on complicated and contentious cases to help protect your charity’s entitlement.
I deliver compassionate supporter care in what can be one of the most sensitive areas of charity fundraising.
Marketing
Legacy Marketing was new to the National Osteoporosis Society when I joined the organisation in 2010.
I overhauled the legacy proposition and developed the first targeted legacy marketing strategy and pledger stewardship programme.
Five years later, legacy income has increased by 123% from £1.3m in 2010 to £2.9m in 2015 and the number of legacy pledgers has increased by over 60%, from 615 in 2010 to 990 in 2015.
I will help you to significantly increase your future legacy pipeline by developing inspiring and innovative marketing activity specifically adapted to your organisation’s specific needs, goals and tone of voice.
The Complete Solution
Legacy management is most effective when administration and marketing are integrated.
To fundraise through legacies you need to understand who is leaving them and why, as well as having a clear understanding of probate law to help prevent future complications.
Equally some of the warmest legacy prospects are introduced to the charity through the administration process and need to be effectively recognised and stewarded.
My background and unique knowledge of both facets of legacy fundraising mean I have that overview and can offer a complete solution to charities, eliminating the need to engage multiple professionals.
